Tra Vinh Provincial Officials Collaborate with the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh city
On the afternoon of April 5th, in Ho Chi Minh City, a delegation of Tra Vinh provincial officials led by Mr. Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, met with Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, the Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, and members of the Consulate General, along with representatives from the Vietnam-India Trade Association.

During the meeting, Mr. Le Van Han, speaking on behalf of the Tra Vinh delegation, introduced Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi to the economic, cultural, and social achievements of Tra Vinh. He emphasized Tra Vinh's potential and strengths across various sectors, including agriculture, industry, trade, and services. He further elaborated on the development of clean and green energy, transportation infrastructure, human resource training, and labor. The province expressed its keen interest in inviting investments and collaborations in various fields. For the industry sector, Tra Vinh presented five industrial projects focusing on park infrastructure, urban services, technical infrastructure for bonded warehouses, non-tariff zones, and specific industrial parks such as Don Xuan and Dinh An. Regarding transportation infrastructure, the province invited investments for projects like the Duyen Hai - Dinh An wharf with a capacity of up to 50,000 tons, Tra Cu - Kim Son port area with a capacity of up to 20,000 tons, and various buoy wharves and anchorage areas for transshipment and storm shelter. In terms of renewable energy, Tra Vinh highlighted 19 projects with a total capacity of 14,452MW. These include offshore wind power projects, solar power projects, and onshore and nearshore wind power projects. For tourism, the province shared plans for four 5-star hotel projects in Tra Vinh city, cultural and tourism resort areas, and eco-tourism destinations like Ao Ba Om, December 22 farm, and Ba Dong tourist resort in Duyen Hai town. In the education and training sector, Tra Vinh proposed collaborations in the research and production of medicinal herbs for the Indian market, offering lecturers and researchers to support Tra Vinh University in IT and health sciences, and assisting with internship placements for IT students from Tra Vinh University. In agriculture, the province sought Indian support to apply high technology in agricultural production, adapt to climate change, and establish modern post-harvest agricultural processing factories, with priority given to Tra Vinh's strong sectors like rice, shrimp, and fruit trees. Lastly, in the energy development sector, the Provincial People's Committee provided opportunities for Indian investors to survey and invest in 43 potential projects with a total capacity of 26,970MW.

  After hearing Mr. Le Van Han's presentation, Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed that Tra Vinh and India have many opportunities to cooperate, especially in the sectors mentioned. Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han discussed and, as expected, will organize an online conference between Indian businesses and corporations and Tra Vinh province. From the results of that conference, the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City arranged with the delegation of Tra Vinh province to conduct a promotion trip, inviting investment in India; Indian partners are willing to learn and invest in Tra Vinh province for sustainable, long-term development. On behalf of the leaders of Tra Vinh province, Mr. Le Van Han, Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee, thanked Mr. Madan Mohan Sethi for his support and cooperation with Tra Vinh. Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Tra Vinh province is ready to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for Indian businesses to invest in the province for long-term sustainable development and success. He hopes that the cooperative relationship between Tra Vinh and India in the coming time will develop and become stronger. The Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee is very pleased and will issue a document assigning members of the delegation today depending on their functions and tasks to provide content on investment, cooperation, and advice to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for a plan.
