Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quangs Lunar New Year Visit and Gifts in Tra Vinh

As the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 approaches, on the morning of January 19, Comrade Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister, along with the Central working delegation, visited, distributed Tet gifts, and extended New Year wishes to families of policy beneficiaries, impoverished households, and laborers in Tra Vinh. The delegation included Comrade Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Lam Minh Dang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and Comrade Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, together with the Central working group and provincial leaders, visited and presented Tet gifts to the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Kien Thi Ba, born in 1932 in cluster 3, Ward 1, Tra Vinh city. She is a mother of two martyrs. The delegation also visited the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Lam Ngoc Anh, born in 1928 in group 10, Ward 7, Tra Vinh city. She is a mother with a single son who sacrificed his life on the southwestern border battlefield.

Engaging in conversations with these mothers, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang acknowledged their sacrifices and contributions, emphasizing that the care, visits, and health support for these mothers are the responsibilities of leadership across generations, from the central to local levels. He extended wishes for joyful, healthy lives, remaining enduring beacons for their descendants, contributing to the ongoing development of a richer and more beautiful homeland.

The working delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and provincial leaders, participated in a program and distributed Tet gifts on behalf of the Party, State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front to commemorate the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 at the Provincial Convention Center.

During the event, 140 Tet gifts were handed out to 40 underprivileged households in Chau Thanh district, Tra Vinh city, and 100 Tet gifts were given to 100 laborers and impoverished individuals throughout Tra Vinh province.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang shared his impressions of the peaceful life of the people in Tra Vinh. Despite global and local challenges in the past year, unity prevailed, yielding positive results. He expressed that Tra Vinh has vast potential for development, particularly in renewable and environmentally friendly energy. In addition to focusing on leveraging these economic advantages, the province should continue prioritizing the well-being of its residents for a more prosperous and contented life.

Before this, in a report to the Working Group, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han highlighted the significant socio-economic development in the province in 2023 and emphasized the province's continued commitment to prioritizing Tet-related activities for the residents. Throughout the year, the province achieved an impressive GRDP growth rate of 8.25%, ranking second out of 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta and 12th nationwide. Economic recovery was evenly distributed among localities, with many showing high rates of increased production value. The estimated scale of the economy surpassed 83.3 trillion VND, with average per capita income reaching nearly 82 million VND.

On the same morning, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and the delegation visited and extended New Year wishes to officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police force. Reporting to the Deputy Prime Minister, Major General Kien Rinh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, reassured that the political security situation and social order in the province have been consistently maintained and stable, contributing significantly to the province's overall socio-economic development.

On behalf of Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang expressed his recognition, praise, and New Year wishes to the provincial police officers and soldiers. He pointed out that the forecast for 2024 suggests a more challenging global situation compared to 2023, which will impact the socio-economic development of the country and Tra Vinh province. Therefore, the provincial police force needs to strengthen all aspects of their work to ensure stability and preparedness for any situation, particularly in areas related to ethnic affairs, high-tech crime, and drug-related offenses.
