In Tra Vinh province, in addition to the power supplied from the national grid, there are also other power sources such as thermal power sources and renewable power sources (wind power, solar power, biomass power,...), specifically:

- Thermal power source: 04 Duyen Hai thermal power plant projects have come into operation with a total capacity of 4,498MW of Duyen Hai Power Center.
- Renewable power sources (wind power, solar power, biomass power,...)
+ 01 Trung Nam solar power plant, with capacity of 165Mp (140MW) (investment capital of 3,637 billion VND).
+ 052 wind power projects have been put into operation, with a total investment scale of 322MW (total investment capital of more than 14,745 billion VND).

Currently, the province has 043 wind power projects with a scale of 344MW and 01 Tra Vinh biomass power plant with a capacity of 25MW under implementation.
In Tra Vinh province, there is 01 independent power source from Tra Vinh Sugar Company, Luu Nghiep Anh commune, Tra Cu district, with a capacity of 4.5MW, mainly to generate electricity to serve the Sugar Factory, not connected to national electricity grid.
Thus, Tra Vinh province has the potential to access diverse power sources, including national power sources, local independent sources, and renewable power sources (wind power, solar power) to help the province have can be proactive in providing electrical energy for production and daily life.
