According to Decision No.1513-QD-TTg dated September 05, 2011 of the Prime Minister on approving the general planning project for construction of Dinh An Economic Zone, Tra Vinh province until 2030, it also Clearly states: "
.. It is an international maritime
traffic gateway and an important traffic hub of the Mekong Delta and the Southern Coast".
Dinh An Economic Zone is located in the southeast of Tra Vinh province, bordering the sea and Hau River in Tra Cu district, Duyen Hai district and Duyen Hai town with a total planned area of 39,020 hectares, one of eight key coastal economic zones of the country, oriented to develop into a driving economic region of the province and the region with integrated multi-sectoral and multi-sectoral development.

- Specialized zones: Developing the seaport system in Dinh An Economic Zone as a type 1 seaport according to the development planning of Vietnam's seaport system for the period 2021-2030; with a vision to 2050, in which:
+ Duyen Hai - Dinh An wharf is a general, container, liquid/gas cargo wharf with the function of serving the Mekong Delta region, receiving ships up to 50,000 tons;
+ Tra Cu - Kim Son port area receives ships of up to 20,000 tons;
+ Buoy wharves, anchorage areas for transshipment, avoid and shelter from storms.
Currently, the economic zone's infrastructure has been fully invested in a number of items according to planning such as: National Highway 53 running through the Economic Zone connecting National Highway 54 - Tra Cu district - Duyen Hai district - Tra Vinh city - Vinh Long city, National Highway 53 has been upgraded and completed by the Government and put into use in 2021; The channel for large tonnage ships entering the Hau River has been cleared;...
