Vam Ray Pagoda was built on a large area, located in Ham Tan commune, Tra Cu district, about 35km from Tra Vinh city. Vam Ray Pagoda in Tra Vinh is majestic and splendid, bearing the ancient and traditional features of Southern Khmer Theravada Buddhism. Currently, the pagoda is considered one of the largest and most beautiful pagodas of the Khmer people. Not only stands out by its unique architecture but also stands out by the 54m long, 20m high, 16m wide statue of Shakyamuni Buddha entering nirvana, painted with gilded vermilion.
