In his opening speech, Chairman of Cau Ke District People's Committee, Tran Phong Ba, mentioned that alongside the festivals of the Kinh and Khmer people, the Vu Lan Thang Festival of the Chinese community takes place in the 7th lunar month every year. The highlight of this festival is from the 25th to the 28th of the 7th lunar month at Van Nien Phong Cung (Cau Ke town), which attracts over 10,000 visitors annually.

To contribute to the preservation and promotion of the festival's unique cultural value, in 2022 and early 2023, the People's Committee of Cau Ke district collaborated with the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to prepare a dossier requesting recognition from the Central Government. "Vu Lan Thang Hoi" is considered a national intangible cultural heritage and is currently undergoing the recognition process.

During this year's Festival Week, in addition to traditional rituals at Chinese religious sites, numerous activities are taking place, including a trade and agriculture fair with 120 exhibition booths showcasing and trading handicrafts and various goods. There's also the "Delicious Fruits of Cau Ke" market, a "Culinary Space" featuring traditional dishes from different ethnic groups within and outside the district, a "Southern Amateur Music Space," folk games, and a seminar connecting the development of Cau Ke District's tourism with travel companies and businesses.

During the event, the Organizing Committee distributed health insurance cards to 20 students and 20 disadvantaged individuals who had not previously participated in health insurance. The support funds were raised from social resources.
