Provincial Leaders Welcome Consul General of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City

On the afternoon of June 4, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Le Van Han, had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Phonesy Bounmixay, Consul General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Ho Chi Minh City. The meeting was also attended by leaders from the Department of Planning and Investment, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Economic Zone Management Board, Tra Vinh University, and the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations.

At the meeting, Chairman Le Van Han shared with Mr. Phonesy Bounmixay details about the province's recent socio-economic development, its unique cultural features, and its development goals. He highlighted the key sectors where the province is seeking investment, such as agriculture, processing, logistics, tourism, and service development.

In the field of education, Tra Vinh University conducts annual enrollment and training programs in Laos. Over the years, the university has been educating Lao students in various majors.

Chairman Le Van Han expressed his hope that the Consul General would act as a bridge to foster and develop friendly cooperative relations between Tra Vinh province and various localities in Laos in the near future.
